Caroll Vanwelden is a Belgian singer, pianist and composer whose music sits where poetry meets jazz. For more than fifteen years she has set the sonnets of William Shakespeare to music, creating an intimate, elegant sound that blends vocal jazz, chamber music and bossa nova with the timeless beauty of the English language.
Shakespeare Revisited - the new album
Her new album Shakespeare Revisited is out now. It is the fourth record built from Shakespeare's sonnets, featuring singles such as Shall I Compare Thee (Sonnet 18), No Longer Mourn For Me (Sonnet 71), So Shall I Live Supposing (Sonnet 93) and Two Loves (Sonnet 144). The album was selected for the onboard entertainment programme of Brussels Airlines from October 2026 to January 2027, and has been praised by Paris-Move, Jazz in Europe and RTBF.
